January Topic: The Habit of Hydration
Are you drinking enough water?
This month I challenge you to become more aware and improve your water intake. Here are some ideas:
1. Plan Ahead - Fill up 2 to 3 cups of water BEFORE you go to bed. Put them on your bedside table and when you wake up drink them down. Beginning the day fully hydrated can help to cut food cravings and get you started off on the right foot.
2. Infuse Your Water - Experiment with adding different combinations of fruits: lemons, limes, strawberries, seasonal fruits, cucumbers, rosemary, mint, etc. What’s your favorite combination?
3. Schedule Sips - Why not set a reminder tone on your smart phone so you can STOP what you are doing to enjoy a recommended 8 oz glass.
Plus, water moistens tissues, regulates your body temperature, lubricates joints, lessens the burden on the kidneys and liver by flushing out waste products, carries nutrients and oxygen to the cells and helps prevent constipation. Water does a body good!!
Your body and skin will thank you if you make hydration a habit!
